This rocking jazz/blues mix album was recorded at the Greene Room Studios in Van Nuys, CA and I must say it’s a keeper.
The groove is addictive and you’ll want to listen to all the tracks from beginning to end. This one will be a favorite and one you’ll play often.
Andy B’s dynamic line up of Ty Dennis, Brad Cummings, Mike Finnigan ,Brian Swislow, and Don Hammerstedt, make up and amazing team. This novel approach to bringing such talent together and sharing it with the world is illuminating. Andy Bs has been playing music since the age of 12, he knows his stuff no doubt. His approach to the authentic, vintage, classic rock/blues and jazz is what sets this album apart.
“Blue Rain” the title track is thick with blues rifts, ablaze with lead guitar, razor sharp tones, and burning with percussion depth.
The outstanding collaboration on this album of some of the finest rock, blues, and jazz musicians in the business is a testament to the value it presents. Ty Dennis, drummer extraordinaire of The Doors and Manzarek-Krieger, famous keyboardist legend Mike Finnigan who performed with Jimi Hendrix and Bonnie Raitt; and Brad Cummings, one of LA’s most sought after bassists. Special guests Duane Betts, Brian Swislow, Don Hammestedt and Pedro Arevalo makes it a true, one of a kind. This album is a classic and it’s still got the fresh all over it.
“Catfish Blooz” the second track on the album will bring your roots in the blues world to life instantly. The guitar is exceptional and the percussion’s are right on. The bass kept me in time with an inspirational groove. I listened to this tune four times in a row. Perfection.
The magical collage of talent from Brad Cummings who recorded on the Platinum selling album “Austin Powers, “Spy Who Shagged Me” soundtrack, Ty Dennis who has performed in 2003 with legendary guitarist Robby Krieger of the Doors, and mesmerizing keyboardist Ray Manzarek also of the Doors and of course the musical talents of the brainstorming artist behind this album, California guitarist singer/songwriter Andy Bs.
I love “Master of Puppets, It’s Not My Cross To Bear” classic rock and the blues come to life with a new breath of freshness. I closed my eyes and could actually project myself into the audience with this being played live right in front of me. Outstanding.
