Alexander Gibson’s path to the entertainment industry did not begin in an acting school or with a traditional Hollywood connection. It began with a second chance.
Born in Bellflower, raised with Long Beach as the place he calls home, and currently based in Lakewood, California, Alexander Gibson is an actor, recording artist, entrepreneur, and advocate whose journey to working alongside some of Hollywood’s most recognizable talent is a story of transformation, perseverance, and purpose.
Alexander Gibson discovered a connection to the entertainment industry while incarcerated. During his time in juvenile hall, he met film producer and criminal justice reform advocate Scott Budnick through Insideout Writers. Alexander Gibson later learned that Budnick was a producer behind The Hangover films and would become the first person he had ever met who worked professionally in entertainment.
After returning home from prison in 2018, Alexander Gibson became involved with the Anti-Recidivism Coalition and was introduced to ManifestWorks, a workforce development program that helps people impacted by the justice system build careers in film and television production.
Through ManifestWorks, Alexander Gibson trained as a production assistant and found his way onto professional sets.
A chance Facebook message would eventually lead Alexander Gibson to manager Berenice Molina and his first television opportunity: appearing on the CBS series S.W.A.T.
From there, Alexander Gibson began building a résumé that includes appearances on American Gigolo, This Fool, Die Like a Man,and The Curse.
Alexander’s film career has continued to expand with roles in projects including Die Like a Man. In a recent podcast interview, Alexander discussed his experience working on the film and his journey as an actor, offering audiences a closer look at the determination and life experiences that continue to shape his career on screen.
The experience also gave him a memorable Hollywood moment.
“I had the privilege of sharing the screen with some of the greatest in the business, and I got to sing to Emma Stone,” Alexander Gibson says. “How many people in their lifetime can say that?”
Alexander Gibson’s first major feature-film role came with Horchata With Oat Milk, created and directed by John Doe and Christian Leyva.
Cast as Vago, a hyperactive and chaotic character, Alexander Gibson was given his first substantial opportunity to perform scripted dialogue on screen.
“It was a massive deal to me because it was the first time I actually had lines,” Alexander Gibson says. “It was definitely one of my favorite projects to date.”
The film gave Alexander Gibson the opportunity to work alongside DoKnow, Concrete, J Valentino, Jerry Garcia, and Anthony Fernandez.
He continued expanding his feature-film résumé with director Eric Nazarian’s Die Like a Man, working alongside Miguel Angel Garcia, Mariel Molino, Cory Hardrict, and Frankie Loyal.
Now, Alexander Gibson is preparing for his latest feature film, Splash City, from Berner and 4Ways Entertainment.

In Splash City, Alexander Gibson plays Mar, a member of the Bippin Crew.
Always looking for his next opportunity and ready for whatever comes his way, Mar is a young man shaped by his neighborhood and a street-survival mentality.
For Alexander Gibson, the character is deeply personal.
“I was able to bring a lot of my younger self to this character,” Alexander Gibson says. “He’s a young man trying to find his next break, his next meal, his next outfit, or a pair of shoes using the only ways he has ever known.”
Alexander Gibson was drawn to the film not only because of his relationship with the team at 4Ways Entertainment, but because he recognized himself in its story of troubled young people trying to survive.
At 16 years old, Alexander Gibson was arrested for armed robbery.
“I was hurt. I was angry. I was broken, and I was doing what seemed logical to me at that time,” Alexander Gibson says. “There are kids all over the world right now living the same distorted vision of life that I grew up living.”
That experience gave Alexander Gibson a personal responsibility to portray Mar with authenticity.
“The young kids going through those things right now need to know that you can make it out and you can make your dreams come true, no matter how far out of reach they may seem.”
In Splash City, Alexander Gibson joins a cast that includes Reed Shannon, Christopher Ammanuel, TJ Atoms, Alejandro “Baby Gas” Meraz, Zach Sowers, Steve Villegas, Anthony Fernandez, and Destiny Hernandez.
