“2020 CMT Awards” Winners

The “2020 CMT Music Awards” celebrated music’s biggest stars and brought Nashville’s one-of-a-kind energy to music fans across the globe through epic outdoor performances in and around Music City. Some places performances showcased included The Estate of Cherokee Dock, The Barn at Sycamore Farms, The Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, Ruskin Cave and a special performance by Shania Twain at Chaplin’s World in Switzerland.

The evening was hosted by Ashley McBryde, Kane Brown and Sarah Hyland who handled this years awards ceremony with humor from Ashley, heartfelt comments by Kane and enthusiasm by Sarah.

Luke Combs at the with Brooks and Dunn opened the show at the Bicentennial Mall in Nashville followed by a performance by Sam Hunt at The Estate of Cherokee Dock.

Indrig Andress was the first to take the CMT RAM Stage.

Maren Morris performed a beautiful acoustic version of “To Hell and Back” in Ashland City.

There were a few first-time awards this year. Jennifer Nettles was honored with the “CMT Equal Play Award” which was for her strong advocacy for systemic change in female representation in country music and being an ultimate supporter for female voices.

Jennifer Nettles was awarded the “CMT Equal Play Award” by Sarah Hyland during the show. All the women that they featured and all the wonderful nods from women in the industry was heart-warming. Side-note we love that Tanya took a shot for her.

Tanya Tucker gave a heart-felt intro for Ashley McBryde as she performed “Martha Divine” at The Barn at Sycamore Farms. Then Travis Denning performed “After A Few” on the CMT RAM Stage.

Diplo collaborated on his very first country project with Morgan Wallen and had the opportunity to introduce him performing “Chasin You” on the awards tonight.

Gabby Barrett performed her double-platinum “I Hope” at the Bicenntenial Captiol Mall State Park in Nashville. Followed by Dan + Shay performing their song that won Dou Video of the Year “I Should Prolly Go To Bed” at The Estate of Cherokee Dock. Then Riley Green introduced Caylee Hammack on the CMT RAM Stage performing her song “Just Friends.”

Kane Brown debuted “Worship You” for the first time on television at the Bicentennial Mall State Park during the show. We were not disappointed.

Rob Thomas introduced Jimmie Allen and Noah Cyrus performing “This Is Us” at the Bicentennial Mall State Park. Side note: Miley and Noah could be twins, outfits and all.

Ingrid Andress introduced Mickey Guyton “Heaven Down Here” performance on the CMT RAM Stage.

Best Selling Female Artist in Country Music History, Shania Twain, performed her icon song “Who’s Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?” from Chaplin’s World in Switzerland.

Katy Perry then introduced her NBC’s The Voice co-host, Luke Bryan for his performance of “What She Wants Tonight” from the Barn at Sycamore Farms. Then Riley Green performed on the CMT RAM Stage.

Kelly Clarkson introduced Kelsey Ballerini and Halsey performing “The Other Girl” from Los Angeles. Then Hardy performed “One More Beer” on the CMT RAM Stage.

The last performance of the night was Little Big Town at Ruskin Cave in Dickson, TN. The performance started out with amazing muscianship by their band for their song “Wine, Beer, Whiskey.”
