Aqueous bring their Color Wheel tour to Nashville on Nov. 17

In support of their recently announced studio LP, Color Wheel, Buffalo-based band Aqueous is heading out on an extensive tour of the US, including a performance inNashville, TN at Exit/In on Saturday, November 17th.
Florida local band The Heavy Pets – who are on the road in support of their recent record, Strawberry Mansion – offer support on the bill. The Southern Florida rock n’ roll band are excited to join Aqueous on the road this fall. They share, “we have been friends with and dug Aqueous since our first show together in their hometown in June of 2011. We were impressed with those guys right from the start, and all these years later are pumped for our first solid run together.”
Dubbing Color Wheel a concept album, Aqueous will be releasing the 10 tracks in a unique way, presenting three waves of batches leading into release day. “There’s a certain continuity to this entire album, and it unfolds in a way that makes the track order important for the experience – there’s an underlying narrative happening throughout the lyrics and themes, and the overarching theme of the story is a strong sense of optimism through the struggle of the realities of life,” adds Aqueous guitarist Mike Gantzer. He continues, “For this reason, we wanted to release the album in waves, ultimately, to give people a chance to settle into each section of the album and digest it thoroughly before diving into the next.”
Over the last year, Aqueous has been taking the live music space by storm. The groove-rock quartet from Buffalo, NY has been touring nationally in support of heavyweights like Umphrey’s McGee, moe. and Papadosio, as well as performing on numerous national and regional music festivals like The Peach Music Festival, Summer Camp, Lockn’, and more. This fall, the band is excited to undergo their most extensive headlining tour to date and present a brand new studio LP.
After forming in Buffalo in 2006, Aqueous has earned a reputation as one of the most promising improvisational rock acts in the country. Best known for their “groove rock” stylings and ability to seamlessly meld genres, guitarist/vocalist Mike Gantzer, guitarist/keyboardist David Loss, bassist Evan McPhaden and drummer Rob Houk have developed a unique sound characterized by meticulous compositions and rich exploratory jams. In a live setting, the group’s undeniable technical prowess truly shines, making for dynamic performances that bring fans back night after night.
