“This is a huge milestone for us,” says Chris Thompson, drummer of the Eli Young Band. That milestone is the success of the band’s latest single, “Crazy Girl” from their upcoming album, “Life At Best.” The song has been certified Gold for sales over 500,000.
“It’s pretty cool that the single went Gold before the record even came out,” says lead singer Mike Eli. The song debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Country Singles Chart and was downloaded over 47,000 the first week. Since then it’s averaged over 30,000 downloads per week.
The band’s fastest rising single, “Crazy Girl” is currently at No. 20 on the Billboard charts and rising. One can only expect this to go up when the full-length album is released on August 16. Jimmy Harnen, president of Republic Nashville, the band’s label, was extremely excited for the band and their success: “Everyone at Republic Nashville could not be happier or more excited, and we all look forward to the release of the debut album on August 16. Fans are going to love this album.”
