Good Vibrations! The Musical Journey of Eduardo

Eduardo wants audiences to feel good! Whether they are listening to him on Spotify or experiencing his live shows, the idea is for his fans to be inspired. After all, he’s been working on his unique sound for over 20 years, which is a combination of acoustic pop and folk … with a lot of variety in between. “There’s a little bit of something in there for everyone,” he says.

And while the singer and songwriter now calls Alabama home, he was born in Peru, moving to the U.S. with his family when he was 10. “A lot of my musical influences were here, but I have a lot of musical inspiration beyond. Art is universal.”

Growing up, Eduardo was influenced by everything from classic rock to classical music. His songs contain a little bit of pensive humor, relaxing melodies, and lyrics. That make you think. “I cover a wide range of emotion, but we like to keep it mostly on the sunny side of life, especially at my shows. I feel like audiences need an escape from all of the negativity in the world.”

Eduardo is celebrated and accomplished. His first major artistic breakthrough came with his 2018 EP ‘Rusty Strings’. The six-track compilation was played heavily on college and commercial radio. The project earned Eduardo a nomination from Toronto’s Independent Music Awards. One of the album’s stand out tracks, ‘La Farra’ was a winner of Radio Airplay’s summer contest, while singles ‘Hole In The Wall’ and ‘Complacency’ were praised by the press for their sunny vibes and engaging melodies.

In the Summer of 2020, he released a new single called ‘Sunrise’. He also released his first live album called ‘En Vivo’, which is a compilation of performances from his tours in 2018 and 2019.

Eduardo songs offer hope, and demand for his live shows continue to increase. However, when he’s not on the road, the eternal optimist, husband and father is home with his family. “I have a well-balanced life, and I definitely draw inspiration from the peace of mind that offers me.

We caught up with the busy artist and family man, to find out more about his music and the mind that creates the art.

How would you describe your music?

My music has been described as pensive but fun, with lyrics that make you think while enjoying the environment. It’s accompanied by fun riffs to tap your feet to or vibe with.

Tell us about the genre or genres that your music falls under.

I would classify it as singer songwriter genre. More specific folk rock or indie folk

What’s your songwriting process?

I write about what I see and live through. I put myself out there with lyrics that come from thoughts of the moment of the experience. For the most part. But I also try to leave it open for other interpretations so people can create their own story with it.

How has your music evolved over the years?

At first my music was about the usual stuff someone in their 20’s go through. Topics of having fun, the beach, relaxing etc. As I’ve grown, I also have grown as a writer. Developing more writing about thoughts, feelings and trying to dive deeper into the human experience.

What’s the best part about performing live?

Meeting people and presenting my art to them.

What’s your idea of a perfect performance?

It’s watching people respond. It’s not about the applause for me. This is about how they sway their heads for a mellow tune or tap their feet to a more upbeat tune. It’s obviously nice to have folks show up at shows too. It’s easier to feed off the energy of larger crowds.

What musicians have inspired you and why?

There isn’t a specific artist that inspires me, but I like any artists who can write a good song, with meaning and can make me feel like that song is about me… or I can relate it to a situation in my life.
