Hangout Music Festival 2024 in Review

Hangout Music Festival 2024 was an absolute blast, pulling in over 40,000 music lovers to the beautiful beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama. The festival’s seaside vibe was amped up with cool art installations, brand pop-ups, community events, and performances that happened right on the sand. Each day, the festival showcased many amazing performances that had everyone hooked and wanting more. Die-hard fans didn’t even mind sticking to the same stage for over 9 hours just to secure a front-row spot for their favorite acts.

Festival-goers were treated to unforgettable performances, even under the scorching sun. ODESZA turned their show into a thrilling spectacle with intense lighting, a sharp drumline, thick fog, vibrant colors, and jaw-dropping lasers. Dom Dolla, Sexyy Red, and The Chainsmokers cranked up the heat with jets of fire during their sets. Renee Rapp’s high-energy performance, backed by her powerful vocals and infectious personality, won over a ton of new fans. Subtronics brought all the energy to his set. Zach Bryan’s heartfelt lyrics during the last set of the festival were like a warm hug, wrapping up the weekend on a truly sweet note.

Lana Del Rey’s highly anticipated set was a total showstopper. She made a grand entrance like at Coachella, arriving on the back of a line of golf carts. Lana performed hits like Summertime Sadness, Without You, and Born to Die, with surprise appearances from Nessa Barrett and Jelly Rolls for duets. She ended the night with Sweet Home Alabama, perfect for the warm Gulf Shores evening. Lana even surprised the crowd by joining Megan Moroney’s performance for a magical collaboration.

One of the standout moments was the eagerly awaited Taylor Party on the Monster Stage. Fans went wild, singing and dancing along to Taylor Swift’s biggest hits, creating an unbeatable atmosphere. It was hands down the best spot for energetic vibes and non-stop dancing.

The festival also showcased rising stars Dasha and Knox, who made their debut performance at Hangout 2024. Brandi Cyrus put on an empowering female-vibing DJ set over the weekend. Jessie Murph’s performance was super special to her as her whole family was in attendance and she even brought one of music’s rising artists, Maddox Baston. Nelly was by far one of our favorite performances of the weekend and he came with hit-after-hit and had the whole crowd singing along.

Besides the music, the whole festival setup was perfect for chilling out and relaxing. Hangout is unlike any other festival—it’s right on the beach, making music the opening act. Attendees could take dips in the ocean, and the main stage VIP area had lounge chairs and soaking pools. For an even fancier experience, there was a Super VIP section with shade, hammocks, gourmet food, and an open bar. No matter where you watched from, the positive vibes and energy from the crowd were everywhere. The immersive surroundings, thoughtfully designed by the organizers, made the experience even better.

With over 40,000 people in town, local businesses saw a huge boost, with hotels, restaurants, and shops thriving. The festival pumped $35 million into the local economy, creating jobs and spurring growth, proving it’s a big deal for tourism and economic prosperity in the region.

As the final notes drifted away in the Gulf breeze, Hangout Music Festival 2024 left a lasting impression on everyone who attended. It was a celebration of music, unity, and a vibrant community that embraces the arts with open hearts. Until next year, we’ll hold onto the amazing memories of this unforgettable event!
