Entering the booth felt like a gradual progression for Brandi Cyrus, rather than an immediate decision. In her early twenties, she was a member of an electropop band where she gained valuable knowledge about electronic dance music production. After taking a break from the band, she became interested in the fashion industry while attending parties in LA, particularly those with female DJs.
This ignited a sudden and intense passion within her, prompting her to start learning how to DJ. Now, after six years of experience, she has secured an official residency at Wynn Las Vegas for 2024.
There is a noticeable increase in popularity for country-influenced EDM, known informally as “YeeDM.”
Brandi recently performed at Hangout Music Fest in Gulf Shores, Alabama and brought her unique sound to the beachfront DJ booth.
Her genre-blending sets promise an exciting mix of well-known classics from Whitney Houston to the emotional melodies of Tim McGraw, offering a combination of familiar favorites and surprising delights.
“I always call it one big dance party,” she gushes. “I want everyone to have fun. I want the energy to be high and I’m just looking to have a good time.”
She kicked off her set with a familiar mashup of her sister Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the USA” and wrapped up with a mashup of her father Billy Ray Cyrus and Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road.” It was the perfect ode and glow to her musical family background.
Brandi will be performing at Nashville’s Friends in Low Places on Sunday, May 26th at 3pm for her big birthday bash.
