Hundreds Gather for Annual Tin Pan South Kickoff Party

Hundreds of songwriters, publishers, media and music industry gathered last night for the annual kickoff party for the 27th Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival Presented by Regions Bank. The first of 94 shows kicks off tonight, with early rounds beginning at 6 p.m. and late shows starting at 9 p.m. Over 400 songwriters are scheduled to perform at this year’s Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival from today through Saturday, March 30, 2019.\


Highlights tonight include two sold-out shows at The Bluebird Cafe, legends TG Sheppard, Eddy Raven, Frank Myers and others at the Hard Rock Cafe late show, Ross Copperman, Josh Osborne and others at new Tin Pan venue TRUE Music Room and Bar, rocker Jim Peterik and friends at The Local and more. For the first time at a Tin Pan South show, the Music City Symphony will join Brett James, Lee Thomas Miller and Wendell Mobley at the 3rd & Lindsley late show.


The 3rd & Lindsley early show, starring Barry Dean, Luke Laird, Lori McKenna and special guests, will benefit the W.O. Smith School. Proceeds from cash door admission will be donated to school, which makes affordable, quality music instruction available to children from low-income families. 


Today is also the first day of the new #TinPanSOUTHWEST Photo Challenge with official Festival partner, Southwest Airlines. Each day of Tin Pan South, March 26-30, 2019, organizers will post a challenge to the Festival’s Instagram and Twitter at 10 a.m. CDT. Participants will have 24 hours to post a photo using #TinPanSOUTHWEST and tagging any partner that is a part of the daily challenge on Instagram or Twitter for a chance to snag a prize of a $100 Southwest Airlines gift card. Those who complete all five challenges will be eligible to win the Grand Prize:  A round-trip flight from Southwest Airlines and a pair of Fast Access Passes to Tin Pan South 2020.
