My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing, I will sing praises, even with my soul. – Psalm 108:1

ACOUSTIC MUSIC NEWS:

Following the release of his latest single, “Miss Taken,” David Tucker is delivering an acoustic version alongside an accompanying video. Tucker’s catchy lyrics paired with the sounds of an acoustic guitar will have you falling in love with this single all over again. Listen to “Miss Taken – Acoustic” at https://orcd.co/misstakenacoustic.

“I think when I’m able to break songs down acoustically, it really gives the listener a chance to be in the story. A lot of times I feel full production can take listeners away from what the heart of the story is about. There’s no better way to tell a story than with just me and my guitar!” says David Tucker.

With more than 68,000 total streams on Spotify and additions to multiple popular playlists, Tucker’s popularity continues to grow. “Miss Taken – Acoustic” will only further increase listeners’ interest and excitement to hear more from the talented rising star. Drawing from influences from 90’s country and gospel, to rap to rock & roll, his diverse background makes this his most authentic music yet.

“You Got Gold: Celebrating the Life & Songs of John Prine” has been postponed and will now take place October 7-12, 2022. Ticketing and refund information is available at www.yougotgold.johnprine.com.

Of their decision to reschedule the event, the Prine family shares: Our sincerest wish was to gather safely this October to celebrate the life and music of our beloved John. Given the ongoing situation with Covid-19 Delta variant, in Nashville and beyond, we’ve made the very difficult decision to postpone “You Got Gold” until October 2022. This decision to reschedule was not made lightly. We worked tirelessly to find a way to move forward in a safe and responsible manner, while also keeping in mind the intended joyful spirit of this long-awaited celebration and remembrance. This event is extraordinary in the sheer number of artists, crews, and fans that are planning to travel and gather together. In light of how John died, we just could not reconcile pushing forward and adding any undue stress and anxiety during an already fraught season.

Singer/songwriter Elvie Shane’s debut full length album Backslider is out! Shane co-wrote the set that embodies the crunchy hooks of classic rock with the everyday poetry and nostalgia of country music. And the emotional electricity of Gospel and R&B – all with that punchy “edge” Shane knows so well. Backslider’s release follow Shane’s recent celebration of a huge milestone that saw his debut smash-hit single “My Boy” hit the No. One spot at Country Radio, and the lump-in-your-throat anthem to step-fatherhood continues to resonate with so many. A native of small-town Kentucky, early touchstones like Dwight Yoakam, Steve Earle and John Fogerty joined Wheelhouse Records’ Elvie Shane’s Gospel roots to form the bedrock of his taste – along with R&B classics like The Temptations and modern superstars like Eminem. And after a fateful Baptist revival came through town, he joined a band as a front man full of wild-eyed charisma. Shane initially captured attention with a viral social media moment with “My Boy,” that has since become his signature smash and debut No. One single. Shane’s debut EP, “County Roads” was released earlier this year. His picture-based lyrics and knack for storytelling lead to his signing with UTA. MUSIC ROW NEWS:

Streaming companies have proposed the lowest mechanical royalty rates in years.   The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) and the National Music Publishers Association (NMPA) are in the middle of the latest Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) mechanical royalty rate proceeding, giant streaming corporations such as Amazon, Apple, Google, Pandora and Spotify who do not value songwriters.  “Streaming companies have tried to spin their proposals like they believe songwriters are stupid,” said Bart Herbison, Exec. Director, NSAI. “It is clear they want to pay less.  Companies worth billions don’t want to treat songwriters fairly, even though they create the products that make them rich. It’s David vs Goliath!”   In a release NSAI state: The services claim they are NOT asking for lower rates, but that is a lie.  They ask for new definitions of revenue that chop away at the already ridiculously low rates that writers receive.  Songwriters currently get the greater of three tiers of rate payments.  Some of the services ask for the top-tier rate to be cut out completely and propose changes that could actually mean zero revenue from some subscribers.
