Dynamic Young Singer-Songwriter Revamps Name, Image and Music to Kick-Off Promising New Year
Maggie to Join 2012 Country Throwdown Tour and Release New Single This Summer
Hot new country starMaggie Rose is diving full speed ahead into 2012 with a lot of exciting things to look forward to both personally and professionally. She got the ball rolling this past weekend in Las Vegas where she was the talk of the town throughout the festivities on The Strip, gearing up for the 47th Annual ACM Awards.
Maggie Rose’s whirlwind weekend consisted of appearances at several high-profile events, including an invitation-only showcase for key radio personnel, an acoustic performance during the first-ever ACM Experience concert, and was part of the impressive lineup for the fan-favorite All Star Jam that took place following the awards.
Next month, the gifted singer-songwriter will hit the road as part of the high-profile Country Throwdown Tour, featuring headliner Gary Allan, as well as Justin Moore, Josh Thompson, Sunny Sweeney and Rodney Atkins. The tour kicks off May 18 in Gulfport, Mississippi and will continue throughout the summer.
Maggie rocked the country music industry last year when her “Maybe Tonight” video debuted at #1 on GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown, proving she is on the forefront of the new artists in country music. Known then as Margaret Durante, the young Maryland native felt as her fan base began to grow, she wanted them to know her as Maggie Rose, the name her family and close friends call her.
“I have always wanted my fans to feel like they are my friends and confidants,” says Maggie. “It seems only natural that they would refer to me by my nickname. It’s just a nice way to honor where I’ve been and where I’m going.”
Maggie has spent the past several months completing her highly anticipated debut album with famed producer, James Stroud. Together they have crafted a diverse collection of songs with a unique musical sound. The project is scheduled for release later this year, with the first single slated to hit country radio in May.
