Music City Welcomes & Celebrates Summer NAMM 2011

NAMM’s trade shows are all about the experience. The experience of checking out the latest gear, of networking with other music products professionals, of attending free business-boosting classes. From the cool exhibits to the sizzling hot nightlife, music and music-making always take center stage. The NAMM Show is the place to be for anyone lucky enough to belong to this industry. From accordions to zithers, attendees can find anything and everything musical there.

Miles of aisles feature the newest state-of-the-art music products, as well established classics and hot, up-and-coming innovations, all under one roof. In addition, attendees can choose from dozens upon dozens of free industry-focused training sessions, all designed to help members grow their businesses. The NAMM Show is always an unforgettable event, with more than the expected 10,000 registrants, exhibitors and attendees packing the aisles of the Nashville Convention Center. Summer NAMM enables buyers to stock up for the fall and holiday seasons and enjoy meeting valuable business contacts face-to-face at a slower pace.

All of the NAMM trade shows are unique because—in addition to unifying the industry by bringing buyers and sellers together from around the world—the revenues from these popular events are channeled back into marketing the benefits of playing music. The result? More active music makers and increased profits for NAMM members. NAMM’s activities and programs are designed to promote music making to people of all ages. Over the past century, NAMM has proudly represented the industry that brings the gift of music into people’s lives.

What started in May of 1901 as a small, grassroots organization of 53 founding members has since blossomed into an international association representing 9,000 retailers and manufacturers of musical instruments and products from 100 countries worldwide. The National Association of Music Merchants, commonly called NAMM in reference to the organization’s popular NAMM trade shows, is the not-for-profit association that unifies, leads and strengthens the $17 billion global musical instruments and products industry. Everything NAMM does is intended to serve its members and realize its mission of unifying, leading and strengthening the global music products industry and increasing active participation in music making.
