Nashville-Bound Whiskey Dawn Will Play Folsom Live Saturday, Sept. 24 As Their Last Gig Before Heading East!

Nashville-bound Whiskey Dawn headline the Sutter Street Steakhouse Stage at Folsom Live, Sutter St., Folsom, Saturday, September 24 at 8:45 p.m. All ages. The five-member Sacramento area band then embark to Country Music City U.S.A., Nashville, TN, for a special industry showcase at 12th & Porter on Monday, October 3. They are currently in the studio laying down tracks for the release of the follow-up to their debut album, Dear Nashville. Their new album consists of high-energy, a little bit of down-home heartbreak, and a lot of true-core ‘California Country’ feel.

Whiskey Dawn (Troy Ferris, lead vocals; Jeremy Hughes, guitar-vocals; Mike Cook, bass; Johnny Myers, lead guitar; Kevin Maxwell, drums), 2010 SAMMY (Sacramento Area Music Awards) co-winners of the “Outstanding Country-Americana” award, have been abuzz in the news of late – performing on KCRA-TV Channel 3 (watch their energetic rendition of Tom Petty’s classic “American Girl” here), as well as features in the Stockton Record and Sacramento Press, among others. They have shared the stage as Direct Support for such renowned artists as Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, Randy Travis, Faith Hill, Reckless Kelley and Randy Rogers, to name a few. Area radio stations New Country KNCI 105.1, 101.9 The Wolf and Hank FM 99.3 have also supported the band with steady airplay.

Whiskey Dawn – A Brief Bio

Whiskey Dawn has broken the mold for “California Country”. With the release of their first original album, Dear Nashville, Whiskey Dawn’s popularity skyrocketed to unimagined heights. Regularly featured on 101.9 The Wolf and 105.1 in Sacramento, Whiskey Dawn’s music has been heard up and down the state of California, Oregon, Nevada, and Arizona. Whiskey Dawn has sold thousands of copies of Dear Nashville and are now in the process of recording their sophomore album. They will release two singles this fall.

Whiskey Dawn has performed with several Nashville acts, including Brad Paisley, Faith Hill, Eric Church, Luke Bryan, Clay Walker, Lady Antebellum, Bomshel, and many more. Quickly becoming the favorite band at each new venue, Whiskey Dawn performs over 100 shows per year, captivating audiences with precision harmonies and dynamic instrumentation.

The foundation for Whiskey Dawn’s success started over a decade ago. Troy, Mike, and Jeremy began singing and playing music together in high school. It only took them ten years to realize how special it was to have three uniquely talented friends – all with a passion for music. With the addition of superb musicians Kevin Maxwell and Johnny Meyers out of Reno, Nevada, Whiskey Dawn has begun winning over country music fans throughout the western Untited States.
