For more than two decades, singer-songwriter Ronny Corbin has played a role in the annual Waylon Jennings Birthday Bash at Luckenbach, Texas, a beloved tradition in outlaw country music.
Ronny’s connection to the event dates back to its early years, when he was invited to appear as a guest vocalist during just the second installment of the Birthday Bash. What began as a one-time appearance quickly evolved into a lasting role. Year after year, he returned, honored to help his longtime friend and “life brother” Big John Mills, the host of the event, copilot the the journey.
Originally, Big John invited Ronny to join the house band as rhythm guitarist. Today, he performs as both guitarist and vocalist while working behind the scenes to help ensure the show flows smoothly.
The Birthday Bash features more than four hours of Waylon Jennings music performed by an all-star house band that Ronny looks for to performing with each year. The rotating cast of guest artists move on and off stage throughout the day. The result is a seamless experience that feels equal parts concert, reunion and tribute.
Founded by the team at Luckenbach, over the years, the stage has welcomed respected artists including Chris Wall and Ryan Bingham, along with numerous surprise performers that have entertained thousands.
