The eighth annual installment of the Chet Atkins Tribute Show, the traditional opening show of the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society (CAAS) Convention, will be held on Tuesday, July 9th at 7:00pm at 3rd and Lindsley in downtown Nashville.

Produced for the past seven years by Artisan Guitars and previously held at The Factory in Franklin, this year production responsibility has been passed on to The Guitar Show with Andy Ellis radio show and Random Music Group.

A rare Nashville performance by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer NOKIE EDWARDS, of Ventures fame, headlines an all-star cast honoring Chet Atkins on the eve of the Convention.

In addition to Nokie Edwards, JOHN KNOWLES leads a group of world-renowned players. This year, John is celebrating his 60th year playing guitar. He was one of only four guitarists to be named by Chet Atkins as a “Certified Guitar Player” (CGP), the others being Tommy Emmanuel, Jerry Reed and Steve Wariner. Paul Yandell, Chet’s long-time band leader and second guitarist, was named as the fifth by the Atkins family in 2011.

Joining Nokie and John are harp guitar virtuoso MURIEL ANDERSON, Thumbpickers Hall of Fame inductee and son of the great Merle Travis, THOM BRESH and fellow Thumbpickers Hall of Fame member and National Fingerstyle Guitar Champion RICHARD SMITH. In addition to being some of the greatest guitar players in the world, each has great stories to tell about their relationship with Chet Atkins as a friend and fellow musician.

And the show will also feature the new generation of the acoustic guitar world. “Any Chet Atkins fan knows Knowles, Anderson, Bresh and Smith, but we also want to introduce them to the up-and-comers,” said John Haring, Executive Producer of The Guitar Show. That’s why the show will also feature talented future stars BEN HALL, SEAN WEAVER, BROOKS ROBERTSON and KYLE OFFIDANI, each of whom have a special reverence for Chet Atkins and what he means to the guitar world.

And other surprise guests are bound to show up.

Like all The Guitar Show Live events, proceeds from this event will go to The Inspire America Foundation’s “Keep the Music Alive” project to provide musical instruments to underprivileged children.

Tickets are only $20.00 in advance for General Admission and $35.00 for a limited number of VIP Seating tickets and may be purchased at www.theguitarshow.com, on the 3rd and Lindsley website or through Ticketmaster. Tickets are also available in person at Rock Block Guitars on Elliston Place in Nashville.
