Album Review: Randy Edelman “Waltzing On A High Wire”

Composer Randy Edelman has just released a gorgeous, genre warping, full length album which explores his ever evolving creative puzzle of sound design and groove exploration tilted “Waltzing On A High Wire” via Tribeca Records, (a boutique New York, label). The record is an exhilarating testament to the composer’s musical resilience,  romantic vulnerability, and passionate sensitivity.

The album features his new hit single “Birds Of Freedom”, an anthemic story of peace so relevant and so desperately needed now, with more singles on the rise bursting to be released. However, the LP also shares a more intimate reflection or a more personal glance into the composer’s life and times with songs including “21 Again”, “Going Through the Motions”, and in one particularly fascinating twist of fate Randy explores his own immortality in “Any Conventional Means.” “The Glow of Life”, is a warm and fuzzy holiday themed track showcasing the composer’s lyrical sweetness.

Forever an unstoppable force in the realm of film and television soundtracks (MacGyver, Last of the Mohicans, My Cousin Vinny, The Bruce Lee Story, The Mask, Kindergarten Cop, and over 100 more) Randy’s new album is like a diary of entry in terms of music, storytelling, mix and production. Every detail is accounted for and the songs sound alive.

“Waltzing On A High Wire” is now available on all streaming platforms as well as in a vinyl CD format and a limited edition double vinyl album. The album includes both a royal blue and cherry red disc with an insert of all the lyrics. One of Randy’s most recent film scores, an exorcism-based thriller “The Beast Inside” is also set to release on December 3, 2024 and can be seen on demand on Amazon, Direct TV, Dish, Comcast, Spectrum, Fandango, Xbox, Google, and iTunes. The soundtrack will be released the same day via FERRY WINDS/Tribeca Records.

Randy is a musical warrior and a lyrical magician showing no signs of ever stopping or slowing down. You can experience the music of Randy Edelman in a one night only live performance at the legendary Carnegie Hall this December 8, 2024 @ 7:30 PM and on June 6, 2025 at the iconic Lincoln Center.
