With the title track, “My Country Has the Blues,” zooming up to #1 on the New Music Weekly Country Music Charts as it did last month, and a stunning and stirring video set to its music now out (watch video here), the follow-up single, “Room 203,” is ascending the charts to a chorus of expectation that now seems to follow with every new release from prolific Americana songwriter, Natasha James.
Recorded at famed facility The Site Recording in Marin, “Room 203” is a country-melodic ode to unrequited love, where James sings in a longing, yet knowing, voice:
Cause I’m sitting here in Room 203,
Who knows tomorrow just where I’ll be,
Gonna find another love for my heart
“Room 203” is described by James as a “straight-up country tune with a Jimmy Buffet feel, catchy chorus and Tex-Mex guitar licks” and has quickly gathered worldwide radio interest, spinning in Sweden, U.K., Australia, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, France, Japan, and many more. My Country Has the Blues – which is nominated for “Country Single of the Year” for the 2012 (22nd Annual) Los Angeles Music Awards – is set to drop later this Spring.
