Mike Tittel is no doubt a creative genius in the music industry. He is a drummer, an artist, a music producer but also a photographer with an eye for things that hypnotize you. That’s one of the things about this album, it lures you in with great music that also gives you a wonderful view of the story behind the song.
“I wrote the songs to accompany a book of personal photographs. The book never happened but I did get a record out of the whole project. I liked the idea of trying to describe what falling in and out of love is like and what happens in between those extreme modes of living. It’s a record about love but not really love songs.”- Mike Tittel
“I’ve Got You” is an indie-pop song that’s intoxicating and addictive. I especially enjoyed the outstanding distinction and the way the vocals morph with such raw and edgy clarity. For what appears to be a love song it’s a song that I think everyone can relate to. It will stay with you for
There’s such a cool blending of various sounds with this album that it easily falls in to a kaleidoscope of genres. You’ll hear 80’s/90’s new wave to Americana pop, light rock to something called experimental synth. Whatever the vibe you feel it’s sure to be a good one.
“Just Like Vapor”…to me, has a little bit of a David Bowie feel, I loved the ebb and flow. It has a touch of a spacey feel with interstellar vibes from the awesome guitar to edgy vocals.
“New Sincerity Works hits you with staggeringly beautiful pieces…” – Jim Nolan WVXU FM Cincinnati.
You’ll find a great mix of musicians on this album. Mike Tittel with vocals, guitar, drums, and keyboards of the Roger Klug Power Trio, and The Loud Family. Roger Klug of the Roger Klug Power Trio and The Willies on guitar and vocals. Lauren Brayon with vocals and keyboards, Greg Tudor on drums, vocals, and pedal steel also a member of the Roger Klug Power Trio and Cari Clara. Bob Nyswonger bringing up the percussion section with bass, and vocals from the Pyschodots, The Bears, The Raisins, and Adrian Belew. Mike Landis on guitar, keyboards, and doing a great job on mixing previously with Cover Model, Promenade and The Great Modern. Their style and skills would fit nicely in the Indie Rock, Guitar Pop, Rock category.
“…a penchant for clever wordplay, ringing guitar anthemics and Beatlesque melodies…” – CityBeat Magazine
This artist has been likened to other artists such as Rogue Wave, Alex Chilton, New Pornographers, and Spoon.
Tittel wrote the songs about some of the experiences of his life, his impressions of love, lust, and lore, maybe?
“I wrote many songs in my life. None of which I thought were very good. I think in the end I hadn’t experienced enough emotionally to have anything worth writing about. But as life progressed, I started to really depend on songwriting as an emotional outlet.”
The music industry can be an unforgiving career, artists come and go with the breeze. But….the six members of this group, New Sincerity Works, are seasoned and have a greater understanding of what it takes to keep music fans coming back for more. These guys are a solid and what they are creating is fun, inspiring, free, and fresh.
