ANNIVERSARY TOUR NEWS:

Can it really be 35 years?! Legendary country music group Restless Heart are setting out on the first round of live concert dates for its “35th Anniversary Tour,” a year-long celebration that will take the band across the country performing the hit songs that launched them into stardom more than three decades ago. Over a dozen of performances have been announced with stops in Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, and Kentucky, with more to come. Eric Church’s album MR MISUNDERSTOOD has received RIAA Platinum certification, while the fourth single from the album, “Round Here Buzz,” reached Number One paving the way for Church to appear at the televised 2018 Grammy Awards. The album was feted as the 2016 CMA Album of the Year. Church is a six-time ACM Award and three-time CMA Award winner. Announced last year, Church’s 100+-song collection of live recordings from his 60+-city Holdin’ My Own Tour of 2017, titled 61 Days In Church has been releasing in batches exclusively with Apple Music for two weeks before releasing on all streaming platforms. Lady A’s Hillary Scott and husband Chris Tyrrell, welcomed identical twin girls. Betsy Mack and Emory JoAnn join big sister, four-year-old Eisele Kaye. On the music side, longtime friends Lady A and Darius Rucker announced that they will head out on the road together for their co-headlining SUMMER PLAYS ON TOUR, kicking off on July 19 in Toronto, ON. The trio and Rucker share a long-time friendship and touring history, setting the tone for a fun-filled stint across the country and Canada. Lady A is a Seven-time GRAMMY award-winners and Darius is a three-time GRAMMY award-winner.

BAND NEWS:

Supergroup Exile, the crossover hit-making band (and my Kentucky buds) are kicking off their 55th anniversary in 2018. That distinguished career makes them the longest running self-contained vocal group in popular music. They kicked off the year with an appearance on the TBN TV show Huckabee. Guests at the Grand Ole Opry enjoyed a special vocal event when friend and Opry member, Whisperin’ Bill Anderson joined Exile for a 40th Anniversary performance of “Kiss You All Over” on the Opry stage. The iconic song spent four weeks at the top of Billboard’s pop chart for Exile in 1978 and was recorded by Anderson 1979 on his “Ladies’ Choice” album.  Exile has sold over 8 million records, including three Gold records and eleven number one hit songs, along with numerous hits on the pop and country charts. They are known for major hits including “Kiss You All Over,” “Give Me One More Chance,” and “I Don’t Want to Be a Memory,” to name a few. Exile music is available on all digital platforms.

Craig Wayne Boyd has officially signed with The Kinkead Entertainment Agency for exclusive live performance bookings. Ashley McBryde is set to release her album, GIRL GOING NOWHERE, March 30. She says she was motivated to find her path to success when she received ‘reverse motivation’ from an Arkansas algebra teacher who told her she would never achieve her dreams. The album was produced and mixed by award-winning producer Jay Joyce. It pulls from every corner of McBryde’s life – a happenstance love on “A Little Dive Bar In Dahlonega,” a neighbor with a heavy past on “Livin’ Next to LeRoy,” and the autobiographical “Girl Goin’ Nowhere,” which McBryde wrote the morning that Guy Clark passed away. Country music’s biggest stars will be taking a swing at cancer when the City of Hope 28th Annual Celebrity Softball Game returns to First Tennessee Park on Saturday, June 9. This year’s artist lineup will be announced soon. A highlight of the event each year is the “meeting on the mound,” where a City of Hope patient and donor meet for the first time. Last year, leukemia survivor, Nicole Schulz met her life-saving donor, Rian Lawrence at the pitcher’s mound. There wasn’t a dry eye in the stands. Tickets are available now via Ticketmaster. Last year’s event included Reba McEntire, Craig Morgan, Kellie Pickler, HGTV’s Scott Brothers, Sara Evans, Billy Ray Cyrus and many more.

DUO NEWS:

The Bellamy Brothers, who were recently inducted into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame, are opening up their lives to television audiences with their new reality show, “Honky Tonk Ranch,” premiering Sunday, April 8 at 8:30 p.m. ET / 7:30 p.m. CT on The Cowboy Channel. Each episode will feature the unpredictable misadventures that the Bellamys face balancing their globe-trotting touring schedule while running their sprawling family ranch in south Florida. Garth Brooks has been named the first inductee to the just-announced Live Hall of Fame at a keynote Q&A session at Pollstar Live! In Los. “The Frontmen” were in town on February 22 for a showcase at the Country Music Association (CMA) and the presentation was amazing. Aptly named The Frontmen, they are known for fronting top super groups over the past three decades. They are Richie McDonald (Lonestar) Larry Stewart (Restless Heart) and Tim Rushlow (formerly Little Texas) who now fronts Tim Rushlow & His 21-piece big band.  “We are just moonlighting!” said Richie during the showcase.  The trio bring the respective talents to a new single, “If It Wasn’t For The Radio,” written by Dave Fenley, Austin Cunningham, and Kellys Collins.  Although they have busy schedules with their separate careers, they will be playing select dates together as The Frontmen in 2018. Tenille Arts has released a deluxe edition of her Rebel Child album. The new version of the album will include the radio edit and an acoustic version of “Moment of Weakness” and a soulful cover of the Alannah Myles smash “Black Velvet.” Rebel Child – Deluxe Edition will also include “Wildfire and Whiskey,” which has received over 1.5 million streams.  ”Moment of Weakness,” which Tenille wrote with Adam Wheeler and Rick Huckaby, was featured during an episode of ABC-TV’s The Bachelor in February. Kip Moore announced that the second leg of his headlining Plead the Fifth Tour will kick off in Kingston, Ontario, on March 22. The new dates follow the fall leg of the tour which wrapped with a sold-out stint and praise from critics. Ashley Gorley has received yet another honor. At the MusicRow Magazine’s 16th annual Country Breakout Awards on February 5th, Gorley received the Songwriter of the Year Award.  The award goes annually to the songwriter with “the most songs that commanded country radio in … secondary markets,” according to MusicRow Publisher and Owner, Sherod Robertson. It was Gorley’s second consecutive win. Gorley racked up seven Number Ones on MusicRow’s charts in 2017. Those songs are part of 36 Number One hits that Gorley has written or co-written. The Male Artist of the Year Award went to Blake Shelton, and Kelsea Ballerini was recognized as Female Artist of the Year. Florida Georgia Line won Group/Duo o0f the Year, Luke Combs received the Breakout Artist of the Year Award, and Shane Owens took home the Independent Artist of the Year Award. Jacob Bryant’s video for his current single, “Pour Whiskey On My Grave,” has garnered over three million views and generated more than 90,000 shares from his Facebook page. Known for his impeccable and raw vocals, Big Machine’s Trent Harmon has released his new single “You Got ‘Em All,” available now at digital retailers. “This past year has been tough,” said Harmon. “I have had a few highs and many lows.  Zach Stone, one of country music’s fresh faces, sparked interest from radio and music industry professionals during his second year of participation at the annual Country Radio Seminar (CRS) in Nashville. The Texas native was shaking hands and making introductions with radio personalities and PDs as part of an aggressive schedule. Stone participated in multiple interviews and performed at various industry showcases throughout the three-day event. He took the stage at the “Music City Hootenanny” held at The Valentine, sharing the bill with EmiSunshine.  Keith Burns (Trick Pony) and Kaptain Jack (Renegade Radio) served as hosts. Josh Gallagher released his debut single, ‘How Bout You,’ in late February and it is now at Country radio. In 2017, Louisa Branscomb received an IBMA Distinguished Achievement Award. This year, she will be inducted into the Alabama Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame. Southern country rockers Jägertown have refueled a break-up tune into an explosive new track for country radio.  The single, “Rearview,” is at radio now and is available for download on iTunes and all digital retailers. Coming off the last chart-topping single, “Small Town Superstars” (peaked #29 on Music Row Country Breakout Chart and #50 on Billboard Indicator), this tune was produced by Matt McClure at Ocean Way Studios. Kenny Chesney’s Trip Around the Sun Tour kicks off April 21 at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium, but more intimate amphitheater shows will begin May 10 at Virginia Beach’s Farm Bureau Live, May 11 at Charlotte, NC’s PNC Music Pavilion and May 12 at Raleigh, NC’s Coastal Credit Union Music Park. The 2018 tour will thread between massive stadium shows and the more streamlined concerts throughout the summer – and see Chesney create two very different kinds of concert experiences. “Part of the fun of mixing the venues is riding the energy, letting the music breathe in different ways and really giving the audience dynamics that are so intense without being the same show across America,” Chesney explained. The 51st Anniversary of The Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival just bumped the scheduled show count up to triple digits. For the first time in the event’s 26-year history, fans will have the opportunity to choose between over 250 plus songwriters performing at a record 100 plus shows at ten of Nashville’s top venues April 3rd through April 7th, 2018. URBAN COWBOY NEWS:

Country legends Johnny Lee and Mickey Gilley have joined forces to co-headline the “Urban Cowboy Reunion Tour.” The two friends are reuniting for a series of live concert dates throughout 2018. The tour kicked off in Stafford, Texas and will visit cities all across the country, including Nevada, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Louisiana and Pennsylvania. After working together for over 50 years, Gilley and Lee have a friendship and stage chemistry that goes unmatched. The tour reunites two of the stars of the 1980 iconic ‘Urban Cowboy’ film.  The duo can be seen throughout the year in their hometown of Branson, Mo. at Mickey Gilley’s Shanghai Theater.

Country newcomer Kalie Shorr has released a new music video for her hit single “Two Hands.” Shorr gave a sneak peek to a sold-out crowd of industry and media VIPS, fans and friends during her launch party for her new EP, Awake, at The Back Corner in Nashville.
The video premiered on CMT and CMT.com and has since been added to GAC and to the top of Vevo’s DSCVR playlist. She wrote her first song at age 6, and picked up the guitar for the first time at age 13.
