Nashville Music Guide’s Artists to Watch 2023

Milligan is a student of classic Country music with the swagger of early Rock ‘n’ Roll.  He’s an electrifying entertainer who has packed Country fans into clubs night after night on tour. Milligan cites George Strait and Elvis Presley – the King of Country and the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll – as musical heroes. His unique style of traditional yet timely Country has been embraced by fans, peers and the media alike.

Last year, Milligan performed on NBC’s America’s Got Talent to rave reviews and finished in the Top 3. Milligan’s response was spot on. He explained that by appearing on the show, he was in some ways walking in his hero Elvis Presley’s blue-suede shoes. Milligan reminded viewers that The King scored his big break on TV as well, when he sang and swiveled on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1956.

Milligan spent much of 2022 turning heads and delivering high-stakes performances with all the poise of his honkytonk heroes – and also topping the iTunes charts. Hitting #1 on both the iTunes Country Albums chart and the All-Genre iTunes Albums chart with his Dallas/Fort Worth debut, Milligan also sent his first two singles – “Kiss Goodbye All Night” and “Sounds Like Something I’d Do” to the top of both the iTunes Country Songs and All-Genre iTunes Songs charts. He also made his debut appearance on the Grand Ole Opry. In 2023 he has already secured a spot at the elusive Stagecoach Festival lineup.
