Growing up about 40 minutes from St. Louis Missouri in Waterloo, Illinois Alexandra Kay began writing songs at the age of 15 as a way to cope with being a teenager, her first loves and finding herself. Before returning to her country music roots – she scored placement on the New Music Top 40 pop chart, Hot AC, and the Hot 100 roundup with her heartwarming ballad, “No More.” Kay’s shift to country confirms that she is a genre-bending artist on the rise.
At 22, Alexandra began her country music career making cover videos of many 90’s country music favorites and posting them on her socials. Throughout the years, Kay made waves throughout social media and generated a devoted fan base of over 526,000 followers on Facebook, 126,000 on Instagram, and rummaged over 2.6 million on TikTok for her beloved “Coffee Covers” series.
Since taking social media by storm Alexandra Kay has collaborated with some of the most iconic names in the music industry like Randy Travis, Tim McGraw, and Scott Stapp of Creed. Alexandra has also made appearances on American Idol, NBC’s The Voice, had a starring role in the Netflix Original Series ‘Westside’ and gained some traction on the iTunes country charts all while garnishing support from fans and critics.
In 2022, she made her Grand Ole Opry debut as well as opened and performed alongside Tim McGraw, Russell Dickerson, Brandon Davis, Tracy Lawrence and Clay Walker.
Kay’s perseverance and attentive songwriting proves that she is among the women that are shaping the modern country music space and reassuring the male-dominated industry that they have a seat at the table.
